Iran is willing to restart atomic negotiations with Washington provided that it is handled with "respect" and "respect", Tehran's foreign minister has announced.

The Iranian diplomat said only diplomacy worked, and revealed recent overtures had come from intermediaries to resume talks with the Trump administration. He said Iran had zero secret atomic facilities, and Tehran was not yet able to allow the International Atomic Energy Agency to visit bombed nuclear sites for safety concerns.

Navigating a Difficult Course

Araghchi is treading a difficult route since Iran aims to avoid be seen to be acting from a situation of weakness, and he consistently maintained that Iran had come out stronger defensively and mentally from the Israeli-US attack on its enrichment centers in June.

He was speaking at a strategic meeting in Tehran where he reaffirmed that Iran had "an absolute privilege to process nuclear material on home soil that it will perpetually retain" – the key factor of the deadlock in the prior discussions.

Prior Negotiations Suddenly Concluded

The previous five rounds of negotiations between the United States and Iran were ended suddenly and acrimonious conclusion on 12 June when the Israeli government, with Washington's assistance, attacked Iranian nuclear sites in a 12-day war that ended with the American leader claiming the sites had been obliterated. Following this, Western states exercised their authority to reimpose global restrictions, but Iran maintains they have not had a substantial consequence.

Perfect Agreement Offered

Iran's diplomats stated they felt they had reached a "perfect agreement" to the enrichment issue in earlier negotiations, when it was agreed an Iran-based consortium with American involvement could refine atomic fuel. Both sides would have been able to claim victory since home-based processing would have persisted and the US could be certain that Iran's atomic project was solely for peaceful purposes.

It had not been decided in the discussions that Washington's technical specialists could function inside Iran, but that was a reasonable assumption of the cooperative offer. Diplomats stated on multiple occasions they had achieved a deal with Trump's special envoy the American negotiator only for the deal to collapse due to "detractors in America".

Current Status

Tehran representatives declared the consortium offer was now withdrawn, but it seems very probable the offer could be reintroduced in some form if negotiations resume.

Trump in recent days said he had been receiving messages that Iran sought to restart talks, but confidentially Iranian officials say they are not yet receiving clear proposals from America either straightforwardly or from important Middle Eastern intermediaries, such as the Qatari government, the Egyptian leadership, Oman and Saudi Arabia. The Tehran's diplomatic corps has been criticized of non-responsiveness in the wake of Trump's direct instinctive approach, but Tehran states diplomacy is not part of a show.

Negotiating Stance

In his remarks to the forum, intended to depict the US as a controlling nation that abuses the idea of global regulations, Araghchi said the fortnight-long engagement revealed the dispute could not be settled by armed force. He asserted the attacks commenced with a American requirement for an unconditional Iranian surrender and culminated with an absolute demand for a ceasefire.

Iran is assured the initial Israeli attacks were carried out with complete American awareness and collaboration, making faith challenging to restore.

Negotiations Continues the Ultimate Solution

Araghchi declared: "Tehran was not the one that had fled diplomacy; it was the United States and the Western nations that had repeatedly tried to dictate their will during the discussions. Dialogue can still be active and remains the primary resolution to settle disagreements, but its criteria, rules and tenets must be respected."

"If they speak to the nation of Iran with the approach of respect and honor, they will receive a reply in the same language."

Repair and Recovery

In what is portrayed by Iranian officials as the struggle of restoration and reconstruction, Araghchi claimed he was certain Iran's defence capabilities "have significantly improved than preceding 13 or 14 June of this year. All our capabilities have been reestablished. We acquired numerous insights from this engagement; we have come to know our personal limitations and the vulnerabilities of the opponent."

He continued: "We successfully passed this war. Our enrichment knowledge, which they intended to obliterate, remains in place. The sites and gear, if eliminated, will be rebuilt; what is essential is the will of the Iranian people and then the social solidarity that they aimed at, but were unable to break. The citizens of Tehran have become more powerful, more united, and more endorsing of the leadership and the state in the face of this assault."
